“PRORIL has embedded sustainability into the core of our business.”
dedicating efforts to balancing economic growth, environmental conservation, and social responsibility to help create a sustainable future for our planet.
Environmental sustainability
PRORIL is committed to integrating sustainability into our core operation strategy. We strive to balance economic growth, environmental conservation, and social responsibility, contributing thoroughly to a more sustainable planet.
As global citizens, we all bear a critical responsibility to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. Much like the small yet essential gears in a machine, every action we take can have a profound impact on our planet.
As a pump manufacturer, we recognize the pivotal role of water management in environmental preservation. We are dedicated to developing highly efficient and energy-saving pumps that optimize water usage. Through innovative technologies, we help our clients reduce energy consumption, address diverse drainage challenges, mitigate water-related risks, and make a positive impact on the water industry.
Our approach is to start small, working towards a more sustainable future. Apart from questing for excellence in product development, we incorporate sustainable practices into our daily lives by conserving water, saving energy, reducing waste, measuring carbon emissions, setting reduction targets, and supporting renewable energy initiatives.
PRORIL envisions a future where every pump and every drop of water plays a vital role in achieving our goal of net-zero emissions.

Greenhouse Gas Inventory
While PRORIL is not currently required to conduct greenhouse gas emissions inventories, we voluntarily undertook the initiative in 2024. This proactive step allowed us to identify our carbon hotspots and prepare for potential future regulations under Taiwan’s net-zero policy and meet stakeholders’ expectations for carbon management.
In line with the ISO 14064-1: 2018 standard, PRORIL assessed its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions at its operational sites for 2023. Within the inventory boundary, our offices and factory do not use combustion boilers, and our pump manufacturing processes primarily rely on purchased electricity. Therefore, Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity constitute the majority of our total emissions.
Our 2023 greenhouse gas inventory revealed that Scope 1 direct emissions, primarily from gas, company vehicles, refrigerants, and septic tanks, totaled 22.8722 tons of CO2e per year (23% of total emissions). Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity amounted to 76.4712 tons of CO2e per year (77% of total emissions).
Based on the 2023 inventory results, we are committed to evaluating energy consumption of our production equipment systems and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

From the Ground Up:
PRORIL’s Commitment to Sustainable Practices
PRORIL’s Commitment to Sustainable Practices
PRORIL’s office building was designed with a primary focus on its environmental impact. The architecture prioritizes a comfortable human experience and embodies a commitment to environmental friendliness.
Our office building features an atrium that harnesses natural light, and it significantly reduces energy consumption in common areas. The atrium’s design also enhances natural ventilation so that air conditioning is rarely needed in common areas. Furthermore, our energy-efficient practices are also reflected in our window design where gaps between the exterior walls and columns allow indirect sunlight to illuminate inner spaces, further reducing our reliance on air conditioning.
Apart from the structural design, we have integrated sustainable practices across multiple aspects to reinforce our dedication to sustainability.

Apart from the structural design, we have integrated sustainable practices across multiple aspects to reinforce our dedication to sustainability.
- Our office building and factory are equipped with LED high-efficiency lighting, energy-saving appliances, and water-saving devices to reduce energy and water consumption.
- Indoor plants are planted in our office spaces to enhance environmental greening and improve air quality.
- We have a thorough recycling program with six categories to ensure proper waste sorting and increase recycling efficiency.
- We have a food waste processor for reducing kitchen waste, thereby reducing carbon emissions during waste disposal.
- In our factory, Reused Water from the pump testing lab is utilized for toilet flushing, contributing to water conservation efforts.
